I am an ardent follower of Leanne Ho #LoveforSkincare on Instagram for her pictures, passion for skincare and her style of introducing new products.Last year ,I participated in giveaways she organised around Christmas and won three of The Face Shop Moisture Touch Lipsticks . It was a big fangirl moment for me when I saw my prize in mailbox. I was filled with joy then and relish these lipsticks till date. I always wanted to try The Face Shop makeup since long and finding these beauties in mail actually doubled up my excitement. In this post , I have shared my review on one of the gorgeous deep red lipstick i.e Smokey Red by The Face Shop. I will be coming up with reviews of other two lipsticks on blog soon although I have talked about all the three lipsticks in depth on my instagram @trystwithvanillagirlblog

Brand Claims: Lipstick that provides moisturizing care and long-lasting, radiant colour. Enriched with multiple layers of hydrating serum. Rich moisturizing serum creates a protective barrier, leaving lips plumped and hydrated. Colour stays true and becomes more radiant as it is applied layer after layer, thanks to the highly dense colour compact system.
My Review
The Face Shop Moisture Touch Lipsticks come in charcoal black plastic case with a color coded lid. Lid has small glass chamber at the top that is filled with color similar to the shade of the lipstick inside. Since I have three of these lipsticks, color coded lid-top becomes quite handy to choose the shade of my mood. Also I store my lipsticks on base, I prefer this kind of indicator on lipstick top than base . Lipstick has standard retractable mechanism and the tapered lipstick bullet is engraved with a brand’s monogram “TFS”. Packaging is sturdy , functional and safe to travel with .
The Face Shop Moisture Touch Lipstick, Smokey Red feels luxurious and hydrating on lips given to olive-derived squalane in the formula. Formula has mild non bothering scent which does not linger.Smokey Red is beautiful, festive burgundy red that will suit all skin complexions but looks particularly flattering on medium to dusky skin tones. It is beautiful shade for fall and upcoming winters also. I love to pair it up with warm ginger or gold tone blushes and thick winged liner. Smokey Red is incredibly pigmented and I get complete opacity on my lips in single swipe . Given to the pigmentation and shade itself, Smokey red shows up beautifully even on pigmented lips. It rolls on lips smoothly imparting this beautiful creamy-gel finish with hint of watery shine. Although it gives this classic creamy finish yet formula feels light weight & nourishing like a lip balm. Formula being enriched with serum feels cushiony and imparts beautiful,juicy plump finish to lips.
It does tends to get messy with oily food but formula seems to change in a creamy gel after application which stay in place and does not migrate as such .It stays on my lips 4-5 hours with minimal fading or bleeding with no eating / drinking in between. However , I loose it completely after a full meal and it does stain my lips to some extent.

There is nothing I dislike about these lipsticks except that they are not transfer proof which is natural to cream based lipsticks. Although Nykaa is selling The Face Shop products online, yet they have not stocked this particular collection of lipsticks. Again I am not sure if TFS stores in Delhi or Mumbai are stocking these lipsticks or not. So availability can be considered as con in India. Internationally,The Face Shop Moisture Touch Lipsticks are available in 20 gorgeous shades. Smokey Red is beautiful deep maroon red lip shade that will compliment golden undertones of most of Indian skin complexions.Formula has layers of serum for moisturizing care and radiant color which makes it great everyday lip color especially for dry ,chapped lips. Recommend!!
